I recently enjoyed a short stay at the Saracen Head Hotel in Beith, and despite the ongoing renovations, it was a pleasant experience. My compact room was clean and comfortable, featuring all the essentials like a flat-screen TV and a surprisingly good shower, which was just what I needed after a long day. Glen, my host, went above and beyond with his friendly service, even allowing me to enjoy takeaway dinner in the bar. While there aren't breakfast options on-site, you can easily grab a bite from the nearby takeaways or indulge in some delicious pastries from Irvine's bakery. Plus, the hotel has a cozy shared lounge and a bar where you can unwind-ideal for discussing our day with friends after exploring the charming local area. With free WiFi and parking, I found it to be a budget-friendly gem, perfect for any history-loving traveler looking to explore the region.
